All consultations are by appointment. The system is designed to allow prompt access to a doctor or nurse when needed. Please note that advanced bookings are available.
All routine appointments are for 10 minutes (Nurse appointments may vary). If you feel your problem(s) could not be adequately dealt with in this time, please mention this when making your booking so appropriate arrangements can be made. To try and ensure that you can speak to or see your doctor we request that you contact the Surgery as early in the day as possible as your doctor may not be working every afternoon. In order that our appointment system is managed in a fair & efficient manner patients who are more than 10 minutes late for any appointment will be advised to rebook another time. Please make sure that you check in at reception on your arrival. Our 'failure to attend' policy can be found under further information, practice policies.
APPOINTMENT OPTIONS WITH YOUR DOCTOR
Each doctor has a certain number of appointments in each surgery that can be booked in advance up to 6 weeks beforehand. These are spread throughout the day to provide a chance for patients to book an appointment in advance at a time that is convenient for them.
We are now offering a booking online system. If you would like to take advantage of this service, please call in and ask to register after which you will be able to book your chosen appointment time with a GP by going online. Nurse or Midwife appointments will not be available in this way due to the more complex nature of the bookings. One third of all available appointments are available to book online. If you cannot see an appointment that suits please call us on 01926 333500.
On the day booking
The majority of our appointments are released each morning from 08.00hrs. These can be booked by telephone or in person at the surgery. In most cases you will be able to see the doctor of your choice but obviously this cannot be guaranteed.
Each doctor has a small number of appointments during surgery reserved for telephone consultations. If you wish to speak to the doctor rather than see them, please ask for one of these appointments.
If you think you may need a home visit, requests should normally be made before 10.00hrs.
The Surgery premises are better equipped to deal with urgent medical problems and if at all possible we advise that a surgery appointment is more likely to afford your doctor a more thorough assessment.
Patients requesting a home visit will usually be contacted by their doctor to ascertain the most appropriate way to manage their problem.
