Graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School (London University) in 1983. Commissioned into the Royal Air Force and completed GP training – SHO jobs in Obstetrics/Gynaecology, Paediatrics and General Medicine. Managed to get flying in Fast Jets – Tornado, Harrier and Hawk – as well as Rotary Wing (Puma and Chinook) and multi-engine large aeroplanes including at low-level. During my RAF service  I ran the Services Aeromedical Evacuation Service; arranging evacuation of ill and injured Service personnel from around the world.

Outside interests; Sheffield Wednesday Football Club – a character building experience! Family, travel, film, theatre and food.

I joined SMC in 2002 as a Receptionist and have seen my role evolve over the last 14 years to move into other areas of the surgery. This includes HCA duties which covers doing NHS health Checks and have I also completed a Phlebotomy course.

This all goes to making my job interesting and very varied.

Outside work I enjoy baking, swimming and being kept on my toes by my Granddaughter.

Started nursing in 1974, registered general nurse and mental health nurse. Spent almost 30 years  in QARANC (Queen Alexandra Royal Army Nursing Corp) both regular and reserve, now poppy organiser for Royal British Legion.

I have been a research nurse since 1998 working in Primary Care and at UHCW. I have been employed by Sherbourne since 2011 running both academic and commercial research .This involves searching data base and daily clinics for suitable patients, explaining the study to patients, preforming all study procedures and following up patients when study finishes.

I am very grateful to all our patients who volunteer for our studies however simple or complex with lots of visits and procedures. Research aims to improve survival, quality of life and prevent disease by testing out new medications, interventions or treatments.

Working days: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

Outside Interests:

I am a mum to 2 teenage boys who always come first. I love to sing  having been a member of Armonico Consort, English Concert Chorus and St Marys Scholars. I am also a keen horticulturalist, having previously qualified in Garden Design so spend much of my time in my own garden or helping friends.
