The majority of our services are paid for the NHS, private letters, however, do not fall under NHS contract and GPs are neither contracted nor resourced by the NHS to provide private letters for patients.
Writing private letters take the GP away from the medical care of their patients. Our GPs have very heavy workloads and our priority is NHS work, private work is normally done in non-NHS time, eg evenings and weekends.
Payment must be made before private work is undertaken.
Do not use this form for medical emergencies.
Private letter may take up to 28 days to be provided. The minimum fee for this service is £40.
If you require your letter to be expedited, it can be provided within 5 working days. The minimum fee for an expedited letter is £60.
