This page will always be kept up-to-date with information on how we can help you with different health issues and services. If you are a new patient or new to this site, please read through it carefully to find out what you can access through the surgery.

Long term Conditions

We will help you to manage the following conditions: 

  • Asthma
  • COPD (Chronic lung disease)
  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension (Blood Pressure)
  • Dementia (screening, diagnosis and management)
  • Cardiovascular (e.g. Heart failure, atrial fibrillation, Angina)

You should expect to be called for a review every year.

You may be offered a health check including blood tests, a specialist nurse review of your long-term conditions, a medication review by a pharmacist or doctor, and a complex care review if you have specific needs.

We provide the following health checks which are available to all our patients in these categories:

Screening Tests

The NHS provides cancer and other screening services to pick up illnesses early to give you the best possible outcome.

The NHS provides Cancer Screening services to pick up cancer early to give you the best possible outcome.  

Cervical Screening (Smear test) - in the surgery

We perform smear tests at the medical centre, and take great care to make these as comfortable and acceptable as possible for you.

Breast Screening  ( Mammogram) - NHS Screening Services

​You will receive an invitation through the NHS screening programme to attend one of the local hospitals for your mammogram, usually every 3 years from the age of 50.

Bowel Screening - NHS Screening Services            

You will receive a bowel cancer screening kit through the post every 2 years from the age of 60. If this is not returned, we will be notified, and we will attempt to contact you to encourage you to do the test.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm - NHS Screening Services

You will receive an invitation through the NHS screening programme to attend one of the local hospitals for your screening

Pre-diabetes - in the surgery

Prediabetes means that your blood sugars are higher than usual, but not high enough for you to be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. It also means that you are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes. You are unlikely to be experiencing any symptoms with prediabetes. You can discuss this with your GP and book a blood test.

Dementia - in the surgery

It's normal for your memory to be affected by stress, tiredness, certain illnesses and medicines. But if you're becoming increasingly forgetful, particularly if you're over the age of 65, it's a good idea to talk to a GP about the early signs of dementia.

Sexual Health

Dr Anouk Gupta provides contraceptive implants, IUDs (coils), and IUS (Mirena coil) services at the surgery

Most of your pre-birth care will be managed by a midwife, please fill out our Newly Pregnant form to register with midwife services.

Women's Health

Men's Health

It is important to see a doctor if you are having problems going for a wee, notice blood in your urine or semen, find a lump or have pain in your testicle.

  • Macmillan Nurses: We have Macmillan nurses attached to our surgery to support patients with cancer and offer palliative care. They can be contacted either through the surgery or via Myton Hospice on 01926 419920

  • Marie Curie Care and support through terminal illness 

Student Health

If you have come to study at a local university, it is important to register with a NHS GP practice so that you will have access to NHS services in the area. This is applicable to both home and international students (who are eligible for free NHS care).

Veterans Health Services

We are Armed forces veteran friendly accredited GP practice.

 

This means, as part of the health commitments of the Armed Forces Covenant, we have a dedicated clinician who has a specialist knowlege of military related health conditions and veteran specific health services. This is important in helping individuals that have served in the Armed Forces get the care and treatment that is right for them.
